High Lp(a)
A high Lp(a) level indicates increased inherited cardiovascular risk. Elevated Lp(a) therefore signals a higher risk of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, warranting attention to modifiable risk factors.
Low or Normal Lp(a)
Low or normal Lp(a) levels indicate no increased inherited Lp(a)-related cardiovascular risk. Since Lp(a) is genetically determined, lower concentrations mean the individual does not carry this inherited risk factor.
