Following receipt at the Laboratory, results should be available on the next working day and will be reported to the referring clinician via the Enfer Medical Client Portal or in a format agreed with clients.
Result Values:
Quantitative results for Rubella IgG will be reported as:
Quantitative results
- DETECTED (Detected samples are ≥10.0 IU/mL)
- NOT DETECTED (Not Detected sample result values are 0.0 - 4.9 IU/mL)
- Samples which return a result value between 5.0 - 9.9 IU/mL are considered within a ‘Gray zone’ and the sample should be retested in duplicate.
Please note this is NOT a notifiable disease: As a positive result on the Rubella IgG Quantitative assay is not an indicator of the current infection status of an individual, a positive result on the Rubella IgG Quantitative assay is not notifiable to the HSE.
