Sapovirus infection is spread via faecal-oral route. Symptoms include vomiting and diarrhoea with nausea and fever lasting 5-10 days.
The incubation period of disease ranges from less than 1 day to 4 days and viral shedding may continue for 1 to 4 weeks after the onset of illness.
